Twice as Nice supports Mabopane Kids, a Raleigh-based ministry that works with orphaned, abandoned, abused, and disadvantaged children in Mabopane, South Africa, a township located on a former landfill north of Johannesburg.
Unemployment, overpopulation, and poverty characterize life in this township, and, consequently, many children lack basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter. The Mabopane Foundation supports two South African orphanages that care for the community’s distressed children. The funds raised by the Mabopane Foundation help provide housing, electricity, water, gas, school fees, uniforms, medicine, and food.
Proceeds from monthly yard sales hosted by Mabopane Kids support the efforts to care for the children of Mabopane. Items from the Twice as Nice Consignment Sale that go unsold and are designated for donation are included in the Mabopane Kids’ yard sales and directly help the children in the orphanages. Consignors, remember to write a "D" in the lower right-hand corner of your tags to support this remarkable ministry.
