Supply List
- Index cards or thick card stock paper
- Black and red permanent markers (medium and fine tip)
- Safety pins
- Adult- or child-sized metal or plastic clothes hangers
- Zip-top plastic storage bags (gallon- and quart-sized)
- Clear packing tape (Transparent household adhesive tape—such as Scotch tape—is not effective for this purpose.)
- Rubber bands
- Hole punch (optional)
- Easy-Release Blue Painter's Tape (optional)
- Create tags using 3" x 5" index cards cut in half or thick card stock paper cut to 1.5" x 2.5".
- You may punch a hole in the top center of your tags through which you can fasten safety pins.
- In the upper left-hand corner of each card, write your consignor code. Your consignor code is the first three letters of your last name and the last four digits of your telephone number (For example, Jane Jones @ 555-1234 would use the code JON1234).
- In the upper right-hand corner, write the single largest numerical size of the item (For example, 18–24M would be 24M).
- In the center of the tag, write a brief description of the item. Include what the item is, the brand name, number of items (such as 78 Lego bricks), and color.
- Below the description, clearly indicate the item’s price. Prices must be in 50 cent increments (e.g., $.50, $1.00, $1.50, etc.). Prices that do not comply with this requirement will be rounded down to the nearest 50-cent increment.
- For items you do NOT want sold at half price during the half-off sale, write the tags in red. Items with tags in red will NOT be sold at half price on the final day; shoppers will only purchase those items at your original asking price.
- You may donate any unsold items to benefit our charity by writing the capital letter “D” in the lower right-hand corner of the tag.
Example tag:

Tagging Your Items
- Place clothing on hangers with the hook facing left, like a question mark.
- The price tag should be attached to the front, upper right-hand corner of each clothing item.
- Use safety pins to fasten price tags to clothing. Items with tags attached with straight pins will be removed from the inventory and remain unsorted at the end of the sale.
- For toys and equipment, attach the price tag with clear packing tape. Make sure tags are securely attached to all items.
- For books and other delicate items, consider using easy-release blue painter's tape to attach your tags so that the tape will not tear the item.
- Double check all of your price tags for price, consignor code, and accurate information.
Visit the Twice as Nice Homeschool Corner page for specific instructions about consigning homeschool materials.

- You set the prices of your own items.
- Appropriately priced items sell successfully. Overpriced merchandise does NOT sell well.
- Be objective. Ask yourself what you would pay for the item.
- Items priced at approximately one-fourth of the original cost generally sell the best.
- Popular name brand items such as Gap, Guess, Gymboree, and Children’s Place could possibly bring in one-third of the original price.
- Consider the age and condition of the item before pricing.
- If an item is exceptionally special or has sentimental value, consider pricing the item higher because you won’t be disappointed if it doesn’t sell.

- Consignor space is limited, so register early.
- Check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission web site to ensure that none of your items have been recalled.
- Wash all clothes you are planning to sell.
- Clean grass stains with color safe bleach.
- Zip all zippers, button all buttons, and snap all snaps.
- Hang pants and skirts on wire hangers by pinning them to the top part of the hanger with large safety pins.
- Shoes placed in zip-top bags are more likely to stay with their mates.
- For toys with small parts, place parts in a zip-top bag, tape the bag closed with packing tape, and tape the bag to the corresponding larger pieces to reduce the chances of misplaced parts (examples: Little People sets and Littlest Pet Shop products).
- Outfits that require two different hangers should be secured together with a rubber band.
- Hats, socks, onesies, and similar items can be placed in zip-top bags.
- Baby carriers can be put on pant hangers.
- Sell two or more books as one item by packaging them together in a zip-top bag (e.g., four sequential Magic Tree House books).
- Sort clothes by gender and size in advance. Consignors who are well organized before arriving enjoy a quicker and smoother drop-off experience.
- Visit the Twice as Nice Homeschool Corner page for specific instructions about consigning homeschool materials.
- You may leave one bin at the sale, and your unsold items will be sorted and placed into your bin. Write your consignor code on all sides of the bin. Do not leave any lids at the sale.

- Items must be sorted by gender and size when you arrive at drop-off.
- When you arrive to drop off your merchandise, you must first check in.
- You will place and display all your own items (clothing, toys, and equipment) in the appropriate, designated shop areas.

- Hangers will not be returned. Leftover hangers will be made available to consignors on a first come, first serve basis during the pick-up time.
